Web Hosting

Web HostingAfter choosing a domain name, the next step is to choose a web host.  Your website lives on a server somewhere and is served to visitors going to your url.  Some web hosts will include a domain name with their hosting plans and there is some convenience in having all of your website  related stuff with one vendor. I recommend people start with the most basic web hosting plan offered.  This will usually be more than sufficient and you can always upgrade later if you find that you need more features or bandwidth.   I have worked with Bluehost, Godaddy, and Siteground (sponsored) but there are many from which to choose.  Whether it be for reasons of price or service, you can always transfer your domain name or hosting to a different company.  Just like with phone service though, there may be penalties if you have signed a contract for a specified period of time.

About Robert

Robert is a novice web site developer. A lack of professional training has not prevented him from creating some very nice websites for small businesses who would otherwise have gone without a web presence.
